River & Isle brings original oil landscapes and abstract paintings into the world of home textiles. Based in Auckland, our linen cushions feature hand-painted designs that turn everyday spaces into something more thoughtful and inspiring.
I am a self-taught artist based in Auckland. Every design starts as an oil landscape or abstract piece. From there, it is carefully translated onto natural linen, then sewn in small batches. Nothing is mass-produced.

Yes. Every cushion design begins as a hand-painted oil landscape or abstract scene, created in my Auckland studio. They are then printed onto linen using high-quality methods that preserve the colours and detail.
July 2025. Stock is limited, and there may not be restocks, so signing up for updates is the best way to get first access.
Designs are painted in Auckland. Printing and sewing are done in India. The cushion cover stitching is done by skilled tailors. It is not mass-produced in a factory, but created by human hands in small quantities. Each piece reflects the artisan's skills, creativity, and attention to detail
The covers are best dry-cleaned.
